Consistency of Damage
A dedicated team of independent experts in motor claims investigation are employed to determine the consistency of damage to vehicles with reported collisions.
Forensic evidence is gathered by tracing vehicles for inspection, arranging cold calls where necessary, liaising with the DVLA, insurers, accident management companies, legal firms and other engineers.
The experts are highly proficient in identifying evidence and compiling reports which will negate a fraudulent claim or will support a genuine claim.
The experts frequently provide engineering evidence in Courts throughout the UK and are fully conversant with the requirements of the judicial system and CPR.
Cases can often be dealt with on a desktop basis using photographic and documentary evidence of the damage to the vehicles and witness evidence where available.
The experts are always on hand to provide impartial advice to insurers or legal professionals.
In addition to a wealth of experience gained as Automotive Engineer Assessors, each expert has an extensive knowledge of the construction of all types of vehicles, their safety features, supplementary restraint systems, and collision dynamics.
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) estimates undetected general insurance claims fraud totals £1.9bn a year. Of this figure, the IFB estimates the insurance industry’s exposure to fraudulent organised motor insurance claims per year is £350m, costing honest customers over £4 million every week. This adds on average £44 to the annual costs individual policyholders face, on average, each year.
Rapid Turnaround Service
In order to meet client requirements Banwells can now offer a consistency of damage service that provides an informed opinion within 10 working days of instruction.
We use our experienced vehicle assessors and forensic vehicle examiners to assess vehicles and produce AD reports with a specific focus upon consistency and other issues that may be of concern.
The vehicles are assessed and an informal advice note is provided allowing clients to make informed decisions early in the investigation process.
The scheme sits perfectly with the MOJ claims reforms.
Benefits of the Scheme:-
- Reduction in time wastage through early recognition of suspect cases at claims handler level.
- Useful AD reports in cases where damage is found to be consistent.
- Reduction in cases embarking on the litigation process.
- Cases of the correct type only being litigated, leading to full CPR compliant reports only where necessary and value added.
- Quick Turnaround Time (cases can be dealt with electronically).
