End of Lease
Hired or leased vehicles are often inspected by Banwells’ automotive engineers assessors. Damage is assessed according to the British Vehicle Leasing Association Fair Wear & Tear Guide.
Inspections will consist of: -
- Vehicle Condition;
- Fair wear and tear;
- Previous/poor repairs ;
- Cost of repair.
When you’re coming to the end of your current lease or hired vehicle, you’re more than likely to have a lot of questions regarding the condition of the vehicle you’re returning. For instance, how to arrange a collection or questions about damage charges. Banwells Automotive Solutions are here to help.
Our experienced and fully qualified vehicle assessors will examine your leased vehicle, ensuring it is fit for purpose and meets the minimum return policy before your collection date.
When inspecting the condition of your leased vehicle, we examine for any damage that falls outside what is expected ‘fair wear and tear’, before you return the vehicle to your finance company.
The British Vehicle Leasing Association (BVRLA) Fair Wear and Tear Guides contribute an industry standard for every form of the vehicle’s condition on return to a leasing company.
Fair wear and tear is known as the damage that occurs to a vehicle as a result of everyday, normal use. This doesn’t consist of damage caused by an accident, inconsiderate behaviour or low maintenance. You will be liable to pay for excess damage of the vehicle that is found outside of the fair wear and tear policy.
