Davies Motor Engineering

Introduction

Our Motor Engineering offering combines the expertise of TLSS, Banwells and BMTS to deliver unrivalled vehicle assessing services to a nationwide field at desktop level. We employ over 80 highly qualified vehicle assessors, insurance professionals and support staff, inspecting in excess of 75,000 vehicles a year.

Our Solutions

Offering coverage throughout the UK and Ireland, we pride ourselves on the quality and accuracy of our work. Our team is the preferred supplier of leading insurance companies, law firms, public services and fleet operators. We provide independent authoritative advice on behalf of Claimants and Defendants in the Civil Courts and on behalf of the Defence or Prosecution in the Criminal Courts.

Field Inspections

Our fully employed team of automotive engineers and vehicle damage assessors evaluate damage to all types of vehicles. Our engineers are all qualified to a minimum of ATA VDA, many IAEA affiliated, and all hold the AQP Qualification for categorising vehicle salvage.

Using the very latest mobile reporting technology, we can offer accidental damage assessment, post repair rectification, repairer audit and credit hire monitoring services in real time. Our damage assessors ensure all vehicles are thoroughly examined to establish an accurate repair reserve and to determine the vehicle’s pre-accident value.

Desktop Engineers

Our in-house team of ATA VDA qualified desktop vehicle assessors use industry recognised software such as Audatex, Glasses and CAPS to manage remote vehicle inspections and agree appropriate repair costs and methods.

In addition, we use bespoke image capture software to allow us to capture images of vehicles; a smartphone based method which is both highly effective and efficient and can remove the need for a physical vehicle assessment, minimising inconvenience to the vehicle owner.

Credit Hire Monitoring

Our engineers and CII qualified office team also offer a credit hire monitoring service to help reduce credit hire costs.

Credit hire monitoring has a proven return on investment for our customers.

Key Benefits:

  • Proactive management of a case rather than a post-repair reactive approach.
  • Insurer has more transparency and tighter control over credit hire periods and credit repair costs.
  • Insurer is armed with information to allow them to negotiate repair costs early in the process.
  • Awareness of expected repair periods to allow accurate reserving of credit hire exposure on any particular case.
  • Habit forming with repairers – the process drives repairers to prioritise cases that are being monitored.

Total Loss Settlement

We are dedicated to providing the best settlement services so your company doesn’t have to worry. Our specialist settlement team establishes a true market value for a vehicle and agrees a settlement directly with the policyholder or Third Party. Our Total Loss Settlement Services are proven to provide quick, cost-effective turnaround on high volumes of instructions.

End of Lease

Hired or leased vehicles are inspected by our automotive engineer assessors following the end of the lease. Damage is assessed according to the British Vehicle Leasing Association Fair Wear & Tear Guide.

Inspections will consist of:

  • Vehicle Condition
  • Fair wear and tear
  • Previous/poor repairs
  • Cost of repair

Our experienced and fully qualified vehicle assessors will examine your leased vehicle, ensuring it is fit for purpose and meets the minimum return policy before your collection date.

Repairer Audit

Our engineers are able to provide full site repairer audits. These can be on a one-off basis or ongoing basis with an agreed schedule.

Our team visit the site and perform a thorough inspection of the garage, company and engineers handling your vehicle, this can be post repair or whilst the repair is ongoing. By visiting the site, our team of experts are able to gather as much information as possible and come to a professional conclusion on the quality of repair.

A standard audit package would include:

  • Initial checks – car park/reception/customer facilities
  • Workshop check – organisation/safety/cleanliness/facilities
Equipment check – use of equipment and sight of maintenance/calibration certificates for equipment etc
  • Cold case reviews – checks of invoices for any recently completed cases and parts purchases invoices
  • Review of ongoing repair cases for auditing customer at that repairer to ensure authority provided by the engineer is accurate/correct and agreed works are being completed properly with correct repair methods
  • Highlight and deal with any issues that can be dealt with whilst on site
